If you are in doubt, please do not hang the picture.
Else, you have to go by "trial and error" especially if you are not relying on Feng Shui analysis.

Although, generally, north is not `good', it does not mean that the immediate cure is a wind chime.
Usually, one has to look at fully analyse that specific sector in relation to a person's home as it depends on the degree or direction of the main door.
