Dear Lusi,
There are many theories in Feng Shui. And one has to weigh the priorities in applying the theories.
The key FS theory are:-
1. Protect, protect and protect... Here, one should stand at the main entrance and windows and look out for any `poison' arrows e.g. sharp angles or single lamp post (slicing) into the room/main door area.
2. The position of the bed based on good shapes and form FS. For example, it would be nice if the bed is against a wall on the opposite wall of the bedroom door.
3. On what you had mentioned, and based on Traditional FS concepts, this is the first time I have heard of your remarks. The advise provided as mentioned by you need not necessary be true.
For the light blue decoration, this can still be acceptable. For the clay decoration and plant, it can still be ok, if already have them at the location and there no problems - for you.
Usually, more knowledge can be gathered from the above by using the Pillars of Destiny for a person e.g. element and strength and Flying Star to check on any imbalances. However, one can still base on one's inner feelings or `sixth' sense if one do not want to use any of the above theories and concepts.
Please do not be unduly `worried' about such things... if one has already done e.g. the decor.. some time back...and do not face any problems.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

User's Comments After browsing many many feng shui sites, I came to one conclusion: your site is the most sensible, reasonable and helpful one of all. I've been to sites where they want to sell you just about anything and everything. The information they are willing to give is so trivial and one senses that the only thing they are interested in is to make money and sell you products that might and might not fit in with your decor or your culture, and of course doesn't serve the purpose of curing and or enhancing. Sorry for the long message, but I have a friend who spent a fortune buying all types of figurines to cure then to enhance and then eventually all she got was more figures on her credit card and no luck! I believe that what one should do is get your advise first because it makes so much sense and it is always sincere. I also believe that people should buy things that pleases their eye and provide a sense of beauty and balance. Again sorry for the long message and thank you for a wonderful site.
